I'm New

I'm New

Visiting a new church takes courage. People often wonder what to expect and don't want to be embarrassed. We believe that you will find Grace Fellowship to be a friendly congregation that is eager to meet and welcome you without pressure. Regarding what to expect in our meetings, the following may be helpful.

Sunday Morning Worship

Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 am and usually lasts about an hour and a half or so. Normally our worship in song lasts about thirty minutes. Our church incorporates a variety of praise and worship choruses with occasional hymns. Words for the songs are easily followed on the projector screen. Everyone is free to worship at appropriate times and in Biblical ways such as with singing, hands lifted, clapping, dancing, or kneeling. Although most people stand during these times, we understand not all are able.

We invite and welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in our services. Therefore, we are open to allowing the Holy Spirit to work as He wills. We believe the Holy Spirit will work according to the order outlined in Scripture (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). Sometimes we pray for the sick (James 5:14) or other needs as the Holy Spirit directs.

Following the worship in song, we release our children (5yrs through 5th grade) to Grace Kids Church. This is followed by announcements, prayer over needs, and regular offering. On the first Sunday morning of each month, we share together in the Lord's Supper.

The preaching of the Word is an important part of each service. The Pastor is committed to faithfully preaching and teaching God's Word. After the message, the opportunity is given to respond to the Lord's dealings.

Although our services conclude around 12:15 PM. If the altar call is extended, we encourage everyone to reverence what the Lord is doing in the lives of those who are responding. However, if you must leave, you are free to do so.

Children and Youth

Our church is kid-friendly. We have an Infant Nursery available for ages newborn through one year old. Our Tots N Training is for children ages two through four. Children 5 years through 5th grade are released from the adult service to Grace Kids Church just after praise and worship.

Sunday Evenings

Our Sunday evening Discipleship Base Path begins at 6:00 PM. Like the four bases around a baseball infield, we have Christianity 101, Discipleship 201, Leadership 301, and Ministry 401. These classes are open to 6th grade and above and are designed to equip people in the faith and the ability to share and minister to others.

Wednesday Mid-Week Meetings

On the First Wednesday of each month, the adults meet in the sanctuary from 7-8 PM for what we call, "Firstfruits Prayer". We believe strongly that prayer is the spiritual lifeline for all ministries. Youth and children continue to meet in their own classes. An infant nursery is available.

On Wednesdays other than the first Wednesday, the men and women meet separately. The men's group is called "Band of Brothers" and meets upstairs in the fellowship hall. The women's group is called "Daughters of Destiny" and meets in the downstairs sanctuary. The youth group is called "Steadfast" (6th-12th Grade) and meets upstairs in the youth room. The children group is called "Grace Kids Connection" (Pre-K through 5th Grade) and meets upstairs for a time of singing, lesson, games, and activities. An infant nursery is available.
